New EP from The Deans

Thursday 30th November The Deans are launching our new EP UNITY of shiny, happy, dancey songs at The Retreat Hotel, Sydney Road Brunswick. It's at 8pm and it's free, and the support band is a melodic pop-folk act called Teacup Rhino who you will love. We'll have CDs available on the night and there's beer!

Meanwhile the 4 songs from the UNITY EP are up here to listen to and buy and own and love and take to the beach. We went back to our secret bush location in country victoria to record surrounded by clean air, eucalyptus trees and big Kangaroos, and lay down the groooooves.

View From The Ceiling - a slice of Deans Disco.

Minutes Gone - a dance floor filler with horns that will make you smile.

Bodies In Motion - melody, melody and groove

Thoughts And Minds - it gets funky in here

EP Launch soon.

The Deans are launching our next EP on November 30th at The Retreat Hotel in Brunswick, check our events for all the details.

These are the songs we recorded last year in a mudbrick building in country Victoria, now all polished up and ready for release. Meanwhile we went back to the same location a few weeks ago for more recording and have a second EP on the way for 2018, lots of new songs coming through and more dance grooves in there. We'll be playing tunes off the EP at the Bendigo Blues & Roots Festival, but come and hear them all November 30th.

New Recordings on the way...

The band just spent a week hiding away in a massive mudbrick communal farm house hidden in the Victorian countryside, surrounded by Roos and Eucalypts, working on their newest tracks. The band tracks were played live all together in a huge room full of light, air...  and a bit of smoke haze from the open fire burning in the corner. We put in long long days, lots of coffee, and got most of the recording done. Bass player Nick is engineering and producing the tracks, he did the last two albums as well. We used a minimal setup, our portable studio, but we got some inspired performances and the new tunes are groovin! We'll put some photos up soon. Next we just need to record Sophie's vocals, she was off having a super musical holiday in the USA and couldn't make band camp.

Deans farewell Kelz on Trumpet:(

The Deans are saying see ya soon to our awesome Trumpet slayer Kelly O'Donohue as she heads off to Berlin for recording, touring and adventure. We've loved her playing live and on the last album, and she brought a happy go lucky energy to the band, also brought her parents to several gigs. We hope she has a fantastic time in Europe and plays awesome shows. The fantastic Charlie Woods has filled in for Kelly on shows she couldn't make and now she'll be with us a lot more. Gonna miss you Kelz! Our last show with Kel was Sunday 19th June at the VCA Film & Television 50th Anniversary - fitting to farewell her on the red carpet!
